I talk to dozens of our Middle Tennessee neighbors every week, and many people that I get to connect with feel a little nervous about the first call to an estate planning law firm.
My name is Liz, and as our Client Services Manager, I handle most of our initial conversations. My goal in our 15-minute phone call is to listen to your story, help make sense of the pieces that feel overwhelming, and point you toward your next step without pressure. Here’s what you can expect when we talk:
A Simple Conversation
When I call you, my first question is usually, “Tell me a little about yourself and what prompted you to reach out today?”
Maybe you came across one of Trent’s webinars and had a few lightbulb moments. Maybe you recently had a baby, got married or divorced, bought a house, are heading toward retirement, or you’re navigating planning for a blended family. Whatever brought you here, we’ll cover all the basics: whether you have minor kids who need guardians named, or whether you own a small business or rental properties. You don’t need to prepare anything or dig up old tax returns. It’s simply a real conversation about where you are at in life and what matters most to you.
A Clear Roadmap
I know legal processes can look complicated from the outside, but ours doesn’t have to feel that way. If we decide to work together, I’ll walk you through exactly how it works, so you’re never guessing what comes next.
- The Life & Legacy Planning Session: You’ll spend 60 minutes with one of our attorneys, designing your custom plan around your family’s goals.
- The Plan Review Session: Once your plan is drafted, we walk through every line of your documents in plain, everyday English, so you know exactly what you’re signing.
- The Signing Meeting: You’ll come into our Franklin office to sign your plan, and we’ll handle the witnessing and notarization in-house, start to finish.
“Yes, estate laws can be complicated but Trent does a great job making it easy for anyone to understand and see the value in the process.” -Jon
Straightforward Pricing
Trust starts with being clear about money, so that’s where we like to start. Once I understand what your family needs, I’ll walk you through our flat-rate pricing for the plan that fits your situation.
If you already know what you’re looking for, I’ll give you a direct quote on what you can expect to pay. If you’re still deciding, I’ll walk you through our range, from a basic incapacity plan up to our most comprehensive trust plans, and ask if you’re comfortable with that range before we go any further. It is important to us that you don’t feel financially blindsided or surprised at any point of this process.
“They took the time to explain every step clearly… We also appreciated how affordable their services were without sacrificing quality or personal attention.” -Seyum
No Pressure
At the end of our 15 minutes, all decisions are completely up to you. If you’re ready to move forward, we’ll check the calendar and get your planning session on the books right then.
Or, if you’d rather talk it over with your spouse or check your schedule first, that’s completely fine too. I’ll ask if it’s okay to follow up by email or phone once you’ve had time to think it through. Part of my job is to make sure that you feel cared for, heard, and respected.
“While other firms felt transactional, Linville Estate Law treated us like valued clients every step of the way… the staff’s genuine kindness transformed what can be an emotionally difficult process into something manageable.” -Patrick
Thinking about life’s what-ifs can feel heavy, but my goal is to make it feel easier to navigate than you expect.
